TRAPPED FILMING DAY 3

on this day a couple of our team mates weren't in so even with the set back we cracked on filming our last little bit, we found a room and set up, following the script we got some great shots and a good effect whilst we were filming we rewinded the tape to see what we had filmed we were please and carried on, when we went back to upload out footage we found that some of our footage had been taped over, we were disappointed but we went back and filmed again what we had to.
after coming back and uploading the footage we set the task of editing the first little bit of our film cutting the footage down, selecting the best bits and giving the shots a scary feel as we have been planning on doing.

TRAPPED FILMING DAY 2.

in this lesson we set of again filming, but we did have a couple of problems the filming the day before we had filmed me going in to a room but as we didn't have the same room and the door was the wrong way round so we had to shoot the footage again so that it tied in with the room, we then got the majority of the filming done so that the last bit of filming could be done quickly so we could get on editing. when we were filming we tried to get as much footage as possible so that when we came back we had more than enough which would save us having to go out again and wasting time.

TRAPPED FIRST FILMING DAY 1

in this lesson we booked our equipment out and found a room to film in, we set our camera and tripod up and set to work, we went in order of shots and tried different angles and views so that when it came to editing we had as many possibilities so that we could get the best possible look to our film. we were really pleased at the end of the day with the filming that we had recorded and are really looking forward to seeing the final outcome of the film!!

in these pictures you can see how we were trying the different angles and positions.

TRAPPED PRODUCTION DAY 9

to finis of our i stop motion sequences for the title and end credits we wanted to add a sound track to create that scary atmosphere to tie in with our film. we searched the internet for websites that we could freely download sounds and looked through youtube to see what we could fine and found a sound track that sounded perfect for what we wanted it to be. we downloaded the sound and and fitted in into the sequences and now were really pleased with the out come of the over all look of the titles and end credits.

TRAPPED PRODUCTION DAY 9

in this lesson i created the end credits using the same process as i did with the trapped tittle sequence using i stop motion. as i wanted to carry on the theme of it being a scary sketchy look i think i have definitely accomplished this by using  a classroom white board and pen so that it ties into the theme of our short film. im really pleased with the out come, this matched with some scary music will finish the film perfectly.

TRAPPED PRODUCTION DAY 9

in this lesson i was on my own meaning i couldn't film so i set to work on creating the title sequence i used i stop motion to create this scary moving title, i tied it in with the theme of out film so i used a whiteboard and a pen so it came across rough around the edges, to create the moving effect i wrote the word trapped on the board and then took a photo and then rubbed off abit of the letter and then re-wrote it up but in a slightly different place and repeated it all over again, until i was happy i had enough. im really pleased with the outcome and think its really going to be effective with some scary music!

TRAPPED PRODUCTION DAY 8

in this lesson we went out and took some test footage so that we could get used to the equipment and how we could use it so that we got the best out of it, the camera that we used was the HDVi it comes out much clearer, but because its HD it takes up more space on the computer so when it comes to filming the real thing we have to be ready to film and only use a selected amount of footage.
because it was our first time using this camera it took us a little while to get hold of how to use the tri-pods and camera how to keep it smooth whilst tracking, but the test footage really helped us all to understand how to help us.

TRAPPED PRODUCTION DAY 7

the aim of this lesson was to create a prop sheet and costume sheet so that we new what the overall look would be of the character and the setting that our film would be filmed at. also so that we new what to bring in to wear.

TRAPPED PRODUCTION DAY 6

in this lesson we were given a camera to go out and take pictures of the location we were going to use in out short film, we had to see everything from a different angle so that the director would see every part of the location so that ideas and a plan could be made to how the final shot would look, we had to think about what was on the walls, were chairs and tables were placed and what things would look like in different light. after we had taken our photos we came back to the room and uploaded them to our computer and presented on photoshop.

TRAPPED PRODUCTION DAY 5

in this lesson we were asked to create a concept sheet of the kind of text we were going to use and how we wanted out tittle and our end credits to look like. we created a spider diagram and brain stormed all out ideas what the titles and credits would say, what kind of text we wanted and the final look we wanted to create!

TAPPED TARGET AUDIENCE

for our film we had to think of how we would advertise it, the type of people who would watch it and what they would do and see, so that we had an idea of what would work better to grab an audience! in this spider diagram i just got loads of ideas on which companies i would use for advertising so that our target audience would be seeing our film everywhere they went, i looked were they would go to shop were they would go to eat what they would watch and other films they would see so that i had an idea of how we could fir our film into the ad breaks, the adverts at the beginning of the film, in and around objects in restaurant, and shout outs on the radio with competitions, so that the audience would really get involved in the film!
i used photo shop to create the spider diagram copying photos and logos from the internet to use, im glad with the out come and gives me and others a clear idea of how to get your film out there and who you target audience will be!

TRAPPED PRODUCTION DAY 3

in this lesson we had to create a mood-board on the subject trapped focusing on our own story line, evey picture in my mood-board has something to do with our story. each layer has been edited to how i want them to look, i placed them to how i though would be effective, and overall am happy with the outcome!

TRAPPED PRODUCTION DAY 2

the next step of our planning for our film was to set the story out in the start middle and end we then out it on this time line and added shot types and design ideas, so that when we come to film we have a clear idea of what we want it to look like.
the basic story line is a girl forgetting something from a room she returns to the room to find what she forgot, suddenly the door shuts and locked and the lights go out, at first she thinks its a joke but son realises its far from one! weird things start to happen, draws open and chairs fall, the girl now starts to panic and fear for what will happen to her, she tries to escape, but the last thing you see in the film is the spirits face that has caused all this, this cliff hanger leaves the audience thinking of all the possibilities!!

TRAPPED PRODUCTION DAY 1

in this lesson we have been given a task to create our own short film on the theme trapped, in our groups we spoke about our ideas and came together to make a scary story line! giving each other rolls in the group such as director, designer we have come to a good organised conclusion. to who is doing what and how we want the film to look like, were looking forward to getting out ideas of paper and to start creating the film!

final new york title sequence:

now we have our video and our sound track it was time to put them all together to make out own eddited sequence!
opening garage band so that my sound track was open, then transferring my video over so that they play along side each other was rewarding as all the hard work was now in the making! the final touches were put in when we added out own ident in, with names to make everything look professional!
new york garge band soundtrack session:

to complete our new york vedeo we were set the task of creating a soundtrack to go alongside it! we created this in garage band, i created a simple but effective sounds track to go along with the simplisity of my video!
new york final cut edditing session:

this lesson was based on making a short video clip using pictures of new york that were saved on our desktop, we were tought how to over lap them, fade them in and out to create a really efective video!
garage band demo:

in garage band we were set the task of creating a short song, using the pre-loaded sequences that were available on garage band! everyone really enjoyed this session as we were creating a unique song that showed of our personality!
i skill we learnt was how to fade in and out music and to place different beats and sounds along the time line so they would play along side each other, and/or at different times!
logo ident production session:

now we had made our own logo, we added movement them, to create our own unique ident!

Thursday, 22 September 2011

garage band session :

garage band lets you produce songs and sound tracks, layering the sounds, you can build up complex or simple sounds. fading sounds in and out gives the whole effect an original sound!

final cut skills session 1:

in this lesson the task set was to produce a short video clip using pictures that were given to us, by simply dragging the pictures into final cut, we could over lap the pictures and make them fade in and out. producing an effective video at he end of the session!

Sunday, 18 September 2011

logo ident production session:

after we came up with our own personal logo's we had to think of a short video clip that would present our logo in, the use of pictures and sounds are key to the whole presentation of the task!
media production company logo planning session:

after the research and disguising of logo's we were then set the task to create our own logo, we all set out on jotting notes and drawing to help our flow of ideas, once we had on paper what we wanted we then opened up photoshop and got to work on putting our ideas on screen! again using pictures and text to begin making out own logo every one's was unique and personal to them.
logo reaserch session:

as part of our next task we had to research logo's, a big part of company's advertisement and recognition of them selves. we were asked to pick two logos and find out about there history, the background of the logo and how that logo came across to the audience!
as inspiration we were shown pages of logo's and discussed what we though of  them and how they help us know what the company is about. alltogether this helped me understand the importance a logo can be to a company and the audience!
photoshop skills session 1: club flyer task

the next task we were set was to make out own club flier, we were all eager to get on a and make a unique flier of our own!
we were having to import photo's, learning to layer out photos and adding text, all this came with frustrating problems but with a little help and guidance we were on out way to make some interesting fliers! it was a true test of how well we had learnt from the first task.
i went for a more vintage style flier keeping mine more simple as focusing on the club more than the colourful backgrounds and funky images!

photoshop skills session 1: earth and eye exercise

photoshop skills session 1: earth and eye exercise

our first lesson into the media course was how to use photoshop!
we first learnt how to open a picture with photoshop, then we placed another picture over the top of the first cropping off the excess picture, making it transparent and then fitting it to the size of the eye! this gave the picture a whole different look, all though we had many difficulties in completing this task we all come across ways to help us such as short cuts, or just trial and error! at the end of the task everyone had made a unique picture, we were on our way to now knowing how to use photoshop to our advantage!

the final out come!
